If you are reading this it must be because you are curious about the artwork that I do or about
me personally. My name is Ryan Huseby, I was born in October of 1981. For the first part of my
life I lived in and around Denver, Colorado with my parents Lester and JoDell Huseby. While
there, I attended both Oakland Elementary School in Montebello, and Sunrise Elementary Schools
in Aurora, where my interest in art was first explored.
I then went on to attend Thunder Ridge Middle School, also in Aurora, where I pursued other
interests in the art world.
Then in fall of 1995 we relocated to the southwestern part of Colorado where my parents, along
with other family invested in . This is
where I became interested in the art of the area such as pottery, rugs, and much of the rock art
that I use in my own work today. Here I attended the rest of middle school in Mancos and then
went on to Mancos High School (MHS) where I continued working in the area of arts. I graduated
from MHS in May of 2000 and had a class ranking of 9 out of 43 with a GPA of 3.52.
I then chose to attend Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado where I had accumulated 3
majors. The first of which was Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, the second was
Anthropology, and the third was Art with an emphasis in Sculpture and 3-D Design. This is where
I was really able to explore my potential and truly get into where I wanted to be with my art.
Then during the summer while attending college, (2001, 2002, & 2003) I had the opportunity
to work at Mesa Verde National Park as an Interpretive Ranger giving tours. Here is where I began
to learn more about Ancestral Puebloan art and really develop my specialty of working with many of
their petroglyphs and pictographs. After graduating from Western State in the fall of 2004, I
went on to attend Northern Arizona University (NAU) where I did an additional semester of courses
in the Park Ranger Program and graduated in the spring of 2005. This certified me to work as a
Law Enforcement Ranger for the Park Service.
Now days when I am not working at my regular job I am doing my woodworking and that preoccupies
much of my time. Someday I hope is to own my own gallery so that I might be able to help out
other up and coming artists. I look forward to the future and what it holds in store for me.
If you would like to get in contact with me you may either get my information from my home page,

Sincerely,
Ryan J. Huseby
